Still so many albums, I've yet to hear. For the podcasting inclined, the year-end countdown on this show (All Songs Considered) has many, many good, new things to me.

Just became a blog-reader. I have to point out a large oversight on your part as far as the top 10 albums go. You blatantly forgot to mention the fantastic chaos that Broken Social Scene released with their self-titled album. It was easily my favorite from 2005. Others that you might want to consider or explain you're reasoning for omitting:

Feels by Animal Collective ("Banshee Beat"- track of the year), Tanglewood Numbers by The Silver Jews (David Berman is brilliant), and Be by Common (Not a weak moment on it).

They all make me happy. Also, how in the hell is Apologies to the Queen Mary overrated? Otherwise, good call on the Sufjan Stevens.
